Creative Direction, brand strategy, advertising and product design for Kuja Studio

Kuja Studio designs and builds high quality furniture and bespoke interiors. I co-founded the company in 2019 and worked as a Creative Director until late 2022. Our collection consisted of premium, made-to-fit furniture, storage and kitchen. I conceptualized and devopled a business model where our customers were offered a unique bespoke service starting from designer meetings, leading all the way to delivery and installation. All products were crafted by our carpenters in our 600m² workshop in Lohja.

The factory in Lohja, Finland

Together with my business partners, we planned and completed a workshop to manufacture wooden furniture. Based in Lohja, the facility consisted of a 600m² production space with assembly hall, machine hall, storage, photostudio, design & prototyping area and paint room. The workshop layout was designed with optimal workflow in mind: starting from the arrival of raw material, the components would flow smoothly from machining to assembly, surface treatment to shipping.

Being independently in control over every stage of the business, we were able to quickly develop and expand our collection. A studio space for fine woodwork was arranged with custom designed desks for each carpenter. The set up allowed us to quickly ideate and prototype new product ideas, which after development and user testing, would be photographed in our photo studio for commercialisation. This in-house-created advertising content would be directly published on our website and sales channels.
